Location

In 2022 the PPAM conference will be held in Gdansk, the largest city in north Poland, academic and cultural centre, one of Poland's oldest cities with a history going back a thousand years.

CONFERENCE VENUE

PPAM 2022 will take place in Gdansk University of Technology, at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics
(Siedlicka 5a); (set the route in google maps )

• Building B (short name: WETI B)

The conference venue is well connected by Fast Urban Railway (SKM) and tram with the center of Gdańsk, where most of the hotels are located.

Tram

Gdańsk airport

• The most convenient transport from the Gdańsk airport is to use the train connecting the “Gdańsk Port Lotniczy” station to the “Gdańsk Wrzeszcz” station (it takes about 25 minutes) - you will find the departure timetable [here ]
• From the “Gdańsk Wrzeszcz” station you can get to a hotel using an SKM train to the station ”Gdańsk Główny” or ”Gdańsk Śródmieście”. Alternatively, you can take TAXI, which is not expensive.

• For the guests of the hotel Almond, there is an alternative option to get to the hotel from the airport – you can take TAXI from the NEPTUN TAXI company. This company has an agreement with the hotel, so after telling the driver the password "PPAM" and your destination “Hotel Almond” you obtain a standard price of about 20 -25 USD to get directly to the hotel (you can paid by the credit card). The taxi stop is located on the right side of the exit from the airport terminal. Yellow lines painted on the floor lead to this stop. You don't need to book a taxi in advance. Taxis are available at the airport at this stop 24h.

Important remarks:

1. The organizers will provide tram and SKM tickets for transfers between the conference venue and hotels during the conference.
2. On Monday evening (Sept. 12th), after the sessions, we will provide buses to transport participants from the conference venue to the place where the catamaran cruise will start.
3. On Wednesday, Sept. 14th, after the end of PPAM 2022, the organizers will arrange a bus from the conference venue to the “Gdansk Wrzeszcz” station of SKM to travel by train to the Gdansk airport or take a train within Poland.
4. Additionally, for participants staying in the hotel Almond, we will provide bus transfers on the following occasions:
   
   • Sunday, Sept. 11th, after the welcome reception, from the conference venue to the hotel
   • Monday (Sept. 12th, 8:00 a.m.), Tuesday (Sept. 13th, 8:15 a.m.), and Wednesday (Sept. 14th, 8:15 a.m.), from the hotel Almond to the conference venue

Tickets for trams and buses

You can buy tickets at numerous kiosks situated throughout the city or from ticket machines available at some stops.

Trams and buses use the same types of tickets:

• 75-minutes or one ride: 4,80 PLN (children: 2,40 PLN)
• 24-hour: 18,00 PLN (children:9,00 PLN)

You must validate your ticket immediately after boarding a tram or a bus.

A one-ride ticket means, that you need to buy and validate a new ticket if you switch buses or trams. A 75-minute ticket allows you to switch to another bus or tram. You don't need a new ticket when boarding another bus or a tram, unless your travel last more than 75 minutes.

Tickets for the SKM railway

The price of the SKM ticket depends on the number of kilometers between the stations.

You can buy an SKM ticket at a ticket-office near the station or from a ticket machine on the platform. Before you board the train, you need to validate the ticket in a validator, which is usually situated at a platform or somewhere near the ticket-office.
