We are seeing a broad acceleration of the number and diversity of researchers turning to computing to model complex systems, collect and analyze data, and to make scientific discoveries. We also know that the computing processing capacity necessary to effectively serve these researchers will need to continue to grow rapidly. This talk will discuss some of the critical advances in high performance computing, scalable architectures, parallel processing, compute clusters, and cloud computing that will be the foundation for scientific exploration and discovery for the next generation of researchers.
