The First Workshop on Performance Evaluation
of Parallel Applications on Large-Scale Systems
To be held in conjunction with the 7th International Conference on Parallel Processing
and Applied Mathematics - PPAM 2007, in Gdansk, Poland, on September 9-12, 2007.

The goal of the Workshop is to present the latest research in the field of Performance Evaluation of Parallel Applications. This workshop will bring together scientists, engineers, and practitioners to share and exchange their experiences, discuss challenges, and report state-of-the-art and in-progress research of all aspects in performance evaluation.

Suggested topics include (but are not limited to):
  • Performance of large-scale parallel architectures and applications
  • Performance of parallel, distributed, and grid-based algorithms
  • Predictive performance models of cluster and grid systems and applications
  • Workload characterization and traffic modeling of cluster and grid applications
  • Performance evaluation of cluster and grid systems
  • Case studies showing the role of performance evaluation in the design of cluster and grid systems
  • Measurement and monitoring techniques and tools
  • Tracing and trace analysis
  • Automatic performance analysis
  • Hardware and software monitors
  • Test methods and tools
  • Performance comparison
  • Techniques for modeling achievable performance
  • Performance modeling of software applications
  • Performance modeling of hardware and software architectures
  • Scalability studies
  • Improvement in system performance through optimization and tuning
